Casting Call: Driving with Eileen
Disentangle is casting for its first Live stream short film. In this comedy piece, Eileen, the driving instructor, attempts to conduct a driving lesson via an online Zoom video call. The piece is approx 10mins long.
Characters:
Eileen : 50s
Eileen is a vivacious, funny character, given to flights of fancy. She clearly thinks that a video call is an acceptable way to conduct a driving lesson, and during the piece she helps the atmosphere by imitating the radio, using a rain maker and inventing imaginary characters they meet out of the window.
Paulie: 18-22
Paulie is a young man, frustrated by lockdown and his inability to get out of his mum’s house. He is irritated by Eileen initially, but eventually gets on board with the fantasy driving lesson.
Deadline for applications is the 19th of June.
Rehearsals: 28th June & 4th July.
Live-stream: 4th July
Date subject to change.
Fee: £100 total
Both roles would be suitable for actors of any ethnicity.
