GHOSTS OF Stanley Halls
In October 2020, Disentangle Projects presented Ghosts of Stanley Halls, a socially-distanced adventure to uncover the ghost stories residing in a famous Norwood landmark. Our team activated unseen areas of the building and brought to the surface interesting unknown facts about its history.
The Stanley Halls were designed and built by William Ford Robinson Stanley, a manufacturer of precision mathematical, optical and drawing instruments, traveller, philanthropist, self-taught architect, engineer, inventor, author, playwright, artist and musician. His exciting personality is reflected in the Grade II listed building, which captures Stanley's interest in science, the arts and public cultural improvement.
This grand Edwardian style building is now being used as a public hall, theatre and gallery and is soon becoming one of South London's premiere arts and performance venues.
Our immersive storytelling show featured Halloween tales from local writers, an all access pass to the mysteries behind the scenes of the building and more than a few surprises! Touring around Stanley Halls’ maze of backstage rooms and secret passages, our guests had the opportunity to engage with a public building, hear about its history and interact with scary stories!
